The Gift of Reading

Since I was a child, I have always loved reading. Even now some considerable years later, I still love to read. I have never been a ‘one book at a time’ kind of person, and often have a range of books on the go at once. The snapshot below from my hotel room here in Oman will show that! Reading for me can be relaxation; stimulation; learning; escapism; or a combination of these things.

In 2019 I have decided to do two things. One is to commit more time to reading and turning off endless 24-hour news which I increasingly find depressing and frustrating!

Secondly, I am currently exploring ways in which I and Global Education Specialists can support the amazing organisation Room to Read. I had the pleasure of meeting the founder John Wood at the Bloomberg Business Summit in Bangkok last year and was blown away by what he has done to bring the gift of reading to so many people around the world. More to follow on that soon, but for now all recommendations for 2019 reading matter greatly appreciated so get those comments coming please.
